Experience points in Minecraft are crucial for leveling up equipment, but one player's plans to construct a fortress XP farm had to be scrapped because of how the game erroneously created dungeons. Due to the spawner blocks they include, dungeons—one of the oldest constructions in Minecraft—have long been used by users to facilitate monster farming. In the game, players can prepare a enough amount of Minecraft for Windows Game Coins.
Found underground almost anywhere in the Minecraft world, a dungeon is a small structure containing a single monster spawner, usually with several chests next to it. In the early game, they can be a useful source of valuable loot for the player, while also providing a steady stream of infinite XP and mob loot via hostile mobs from their spawners. Different dungeons will spawn different mobs, and while not all of Minecraft's many different mobs can spawn in dungeons, rare locations like abandoned mineshafts and strongholds can accommodate more unique dungeons that can spawn cave spiders or silverfish.
As useful as they are, it turns out that these dungeons are often vulnerable to Minecraft's somewhat unpredictable world generation. This was well documented by a Reddit fan named Magnuty, who shared a video on the site that was both funny and unlikely. This video shows their plans to build an XP farm in a stronghold, due to an overlap between two naturally generated structures, a stone block is destroyed after spawning exactly where the spawner should be. While this does provide a relatively hazard-free dungeon for players looking for easy loot, it's not as convenient for fans looking to build a potential long-term mob farm.
While XP isn't a physical resource like most other key resources in the game, it's still one of the most versatile and useful resources available in Minecraft, especially late in the game. Experience points are required to accumulate levels, which are themselves used to purchase enchanted weapons or armor in Minecraft, as well as repairing these items through an anvil.
Dungeons often become necessary to farm this substance later in the game, though many of the activities added to the game recently offer opportunities to collect XP points more passively. Some fans would like to see more ways to level up more efficiently in future updates, and while Minecraft's long-awaited 1.20 update doesn't offer much in this regard, it does aim to encourage more adventure in Minecraft by adding a new biomes, new resource collections, and a new archeology mechanic.
